The Corporate, Social & Ethical Policy of Hardedge Limited ensures that the company undertakes its activities in a socially, ethically and environmentally responsible manner. This includes the ethical and fair treatment of employees, customers, associates, contractors, suppliers, stakeholders and the public. 


Social and Ethical Purchasing Policy
The Hardedge values express our commitment to managing our business to the highest ethical standards. All employees are required to maintain exemplary moral principles in the conduct of company business so that at all times the Company and its employees are above reproach. Each employee is responsible for conducting the company’s business with integrity.

This includes:


• Operating in compliance with all applicable laws.
• Avoiding situations where personal interests are, or appear to be, in conflict with company interests.
• Safeguarding and properly using company proprietary information, assets and resources.
• Being truthful, timely, and accurate in all communications and records, and reporting with the completeness required.
• Maintaining confidentiality of non-public information and not acting on such information for personal gain.
• Treating all our people, customers, partners and suppliers in an honest and fair manner.
• Handling relationships with public officials, government employees and political candidates within the spirit as well as the letter of the law.

The following statements are for guidance. Where they set out standards, these are not exclusive rules but indicate how the Company expects its staff to behave in those and similar situations. Ethical behaviour is a matter of spirit and intent.

It is the policy of Hardedge Limited to seek to purchase goods and services which:

• Are produced and delivered under conditions that do not involve the abuse or exploitation of any persons;
• The least negative impact on the environment.


Such considerations will form part of the evaluation and selection criteria for all goods and services purchased by Hardedge Limited The purpose of the policy is to promote good labour and environmental standards in the supply chains of the company and to protect the reputation of it and its customers

Environmental Policy

Hardedge Limited – our aim is to be the principal source of supply for the delivery of safety wear and related products to the UK and Irish markets. In doing so we recognise that our operations will have an impact on the environment. Concern for the environment will be a fundamental part of decision making in all aspects of the company’s activities, including capital investment and in allocation of resources. All company sites will implement and support the environmental management system that is appropriate to their potential environmental impact.


Hardedge Limited will aim to:


1. operate in ways that contribute to lowering energy and fuel usage, reducing carbon emissions, and reducing and recycling waste throughout the entire supply chain;
2. analyse our activities to ensure any risk of pollution, contamination or other environmental impact is controlled and, if possible, eliminated;
3. ensure, as a minimum, compliance with all applicable legal requirements, as well as meeting or exceeding other requirements appropriate to the company’s activities;
4. recognise our key stakeholder’s environmental interests, and work with them to ensure their interests are considered in our environmental strategies;
5. consider key suppliers’ environmental policies and credentials as part of the process for evaluation and selection;
6. monitor and report, internally and externally, the environmental impact of the company’s operations; and
7. strive for continual environmental improvement through the setting and reviewing of objectives and targets.

The company Environmental Policy was first approved by the Directors of Hardedge Ltd in December 2003 and has been regularly reviewed and, when appropriate, updated. This updated Policy was approved on 5th January 2012
